For future reference make sure you make a distinct effort to separate Mb vs MBps, they're quite different. 1 MBps is one megaBYTE per second, where as 1 Mbps is one megaBIT per second. So 8 Mbps == 1MBps. This means your network speed of 1 Gbps (gigaBIT) is generally ~100MBps.
