I have an EX-442 which sounds amazing and works well, but there is a VERY small hiss coming out of one side. The amplifier was made in 1989, and has been in the family since then.

Went to check bias again and now one of the channels cannot be set correctly. The other can. Guess I scalded another part somehow. Oh BTW. WebJun 11, 2013 · 63 Hello AK friends, I currently have a BK EX442 amp, it has a really nice warm sound, punchy and mellow big sound, it really makes alive my stiff and cold mcintosh xr16 speakers with a lot of current. Im coupling it with a nad preamp, its sounds nice. I have the oportunity of getting a dynaco pat5 or a bk pro5 preamp.
